*This is a showcase for short films made in the STATE OF HAWAII or by filmmakers who are Hawaii residents. This includes residents that are either attending school or temporarily working out of state.
*A short film does not need to be a world premiere. But must have been produced between January 1, 2009 to June 4, 2010.
*date subject to change **this rule depends on film short and the situation with filmmaker DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: JUNE 4, 2010 No late entries will be accepted!
*All Films must be shorter than 30 minutes in length. To maximize the number of entries, ‘Ohina encourages film shorts to have running times between 5 to 10 minutes. By entering you are allowing 'Ohina the right to use a selected film/video short for any promotional & publicity purposes.
*All films MUST BE COMPLETED in order to qualify.
*All entries MUST be on DVD for viewing. Other tape formats will not be accepted. Entries MUST be received by mail. NO EXCEPTIONS.
*If you want your DVD returned, PLEASE INCLUDE A SELF-ADDRESSED STAMP ENVELOPE. The ‘Ohina Organization will NOT pay for postage to return tapes. THERE WILL BE NO PICKING UP TAPES IN PERSON AT THE ‘OHINA ORGANIZATION. So please remember to include a self addressed stamp envelope along with your entry form, DVD preview disc, and entry fees.
*Final Selections will be made by a judging panel. Filmmakers will be notified in June 2010.
*Upon selection, the following items will be needed:
*An electronic press kit |
*Color/B&W stills from film (any size, 8" x 10" or 5" x 7" is encouraged, photos on disk, zip, & CD-ROM are also acceptable) |
*Promo handouts and/or fliers |
*Any type of media coverage on your film/video |
*1 DVD of the completed film for publicity purposes FINAL EDIT MASTERS NEED TO BE RECEIVED BY THE ‘OHINA ORGANIZATION BY: AUGUST 1, 2010* |
*If a filmmaker gets selected and needs to make revisions on his/her film, they must do so before AUGUST 1st. The ‘Ohina organization needs to have the final edit master by that date. NO EXCEPTIONS!
*Edit masters will be returned to filmmakers after the showcase.
*All films must have copyright clearances for music and releases for locations and cast.**
*‘Ohina will not edit and/or revise edit masters of the selected films.
